Dennis M. Diemer, General Manager of East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD), has 31 years of experience with public agencies and consulting firms in the planning, design and operation of water and wastewater systems. He has served as EBMUD’s General Manager since 1995. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Loyola University in Los Angeles, and a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University. He is a registered Civil Engineer with the State of California.

Prior to Diemer’s career with EBMUD, he worked for a leading consulting firm specializing in water and wastewater. As a project engineer, he was responsible for the design and construction management of numerous water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Diemer is an active member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA), the Water Environment Federation, California Urban Water Agencies, and the Western Urban Water Coalition. He currently serves on EPA’s National Drinking Water Advisory Council and as a board member for AWWA’s Water Utility Council, the Water Education Foundation and the Water Environment Research Foundation.
