Truckee River Operating Agreement

After years of discussion and debate, the states of Nevada and California, the United States Government, Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) and the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe have nearly completed an agreement to better manage the water of the Truckee River. Before the agreement is implemented, the Truckee River Operating Agreement (TROA) must be complete, including a federally-mandated Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). 

Water Resource Plan

The TMWA 2005-2025 Water Resource Plan provides a history of TMWA and evaluates the present state of water resources and water rights available to TMWA to meet customer demands. The plan also projects water resource needs for TMWA's future customers.

Water Meters

TMWA is retrofitting water meters. TMWA is installing the meters at all single-family residences. The agency also will install meters at more than 7,000 condominiums, duplexes and multi-family units.
