Leaders of several western U.S. municipal water suppliers created the Western Urban Water Coalition (WUWC) in June 1992 to address the West's unique urban water issues.

Faced with population growth, environmental demands and shrinking water supplies, these visionary leaders formed an alliance that is dedicated to new and creative approaches to meet future water demands in the West.
